Why Get Acting Hub?

Getting actors acting and helping to get your work seen.

We want to bring everything acting together into one space at the Get Acting Hub! You will find everything from castings, to workshops/seminars, to events, to seeing what shows and screenings are happening. We'll advertise services from other businesses such as headshots and reels that are useful to actors. The aim is that you will be able to find everything an actor may need on Get Acting Hub.

As we are created by an actor we are community focused and affordable to everyone. Success and getting work in our industry should be about effort and talent (and ok yes a fair amount of luck let's be honest); but never held behind a financial barrier stopping those who can't afford it from being able to even apply to jobs. We want to change this.

Our membership fee is TINY, and we promise that it will always remain low. Jobs shouldn't be kept behind a pay wall. We have a little pay pebble, it's easy to step over and you'll barely notice it. Yes, it's that affordable at only £3 a month. Less than buying a cup of coffee.

We also charge everyone who joins us, regardless of their job role in the industry, which allows us to fairly spread the cost of running Get Acting Hub between us all. This is our new way of doing things and it will allow us to keep our membership fee from negatively impacting people's finances, making joining Get Acting Hub a no-brainer!

• Please stick with us and support us as we grow. We've only just launched and it will take a little while for the ball to start rolling and for the Hub to get busy as more people discover us and join. But we truly believe (as actors ourselves) that this is something that our industry and community needs.

What You'll Get As A Full Member

Get Acting Hub is focused on community and the ways that the Hub can make a huge difference in your career.

Here are a few of the things you’ll be able to do as a member of Get Acting Hub:

• Connect with fellow actors and industry professionals to grow your network and support system.
• See casting calls posted by verified casting directors on our dedicated feed.
• See casting calls posted by anyone on our 'Public Posted Castings' feed. You can also post your own castings up here; which is great news for Independent Film and Theatre creators, directors and producers who are looking to cast their productions.
• See what workshops and seminars are happening, all in one place. Helping you to find the right classes to further your training and skills. From casting director workshops, to stage combat, to voiceover training, to handling firearms... You can also list your own if you're a workshop host. Everyone can see these (even those on the free taster membership) but only full members can list them. 
• List your events with us. Everything from networking, to film screenings, to live theatre... We want people to know what is actually happening in our industry, to be able to support each other's work, and to enjoy it! Everyone can see these events (even those on the free taster membership) but only full members can list them. 
• Advertise your services to actors, and show off any special offers. Making it easier for actors to find what they need. From headshots, to showreels, to voice reels, to coaching, to mo-cap footage, to even the less exciting things such as tax return accounting services...
• Showcase your talents through our opportunities to share clips of your work on our social media (where we are already followed by over 50 casting directors and agents), increasing visibility for your skills and performances.

Which plan/membership should I choose?

• Actors - Please select any Actor's Membership as this will give you access to all of the casting, events, training, services, and opportunities areas. You will also be able to create your own events, and list your own services with this membership if you are running something for other actors. We know that a lot of actors have other skills to offer too. (Our ranks include some great headshot photographers, video editors, and networking event hosts; among many other things!) With the Actor's Membership you will be able to both view everything that is happening, as well as add your own events and services.
• Casting Directors - Please select any Casting Director Membership. This is an approval only membership and you will need to provide us with proof that you are a casting director, and that the person joining us is in fact who they say they are for safety reasons. Please make sure that you answer the joining questions and provide us with the information that we need (such as links to official websites where we can find your official email address and confirm your identity). Any casting director can become a member in this way. Once joined up, we have a further (optional) process to verify casting directors who are members of an official organisation. Verified casting directors will be awarded a badge next to their name to reflect this and will be allowed to post their castings on the 'Official Casting Calls' feed. But otherwise all casting directors will be on the same membership plan and able to access the same areas regardless of being verified or not.
• Agents - Please select any Agent's Membership. This is an approval only membership and you will need to provide us with proof that you are an agent, and that the person joining us is in fact who they say they are for safety reasons. Please make sure that you answer the joining questions and provide us with the information that we need (such as links to official websites where we can find your official email address and confirm your identity). Any agent can become a member in this way. Once joined up, we have a further (optional) process to verify agents who are members of an official organisation; and verified agents will be awarded a badge next to their name to reflect this. But otherwise all agents will be on the same membership plan and able to access the same areas regardless of being verified or not.
• Producers/Directors/etc - Please select any Actor's Membership as this will give you access to all of the casting, events, training, services, and opportunities areas. You will also be able to create your own events, and list your own casting calls and services (such as workshops or video editing) with this membership. Just make sure that when you create your profile you correctly identify your profession.
• Event host / running an event - (Please do not choose this membership if you are also an actor, you will need to select the Actor's Membership.) Event hosts/organisers should select any Events/Training/Services/Competitions Advertising Membership as this will give you access to all of the events, training, services, and opportunities areas. You will also be able to create your own events, and list your own services with this membership. You will not have access to any of the casting feeds, this is to control the number of relevant notifications you receive on the platform. This is an approval only membership and you will need to provide us with information on your business/events and what you will be promoting to actors as if it is not industry relevant then your membership will not be approved (or may be cancelled without refund if you do not follow the posting rules and guidelines). Please make sure that you answer the joining questions and provide us with the information that we need.
• Workshop/Seminar providers - (Please do not choose this membership if you are also an actor, you will need to select the Actor's Membership.) Workshop and seminar providers should select any Events/Training/Services/Competitions Advertising Membership as this will give you access to all of the events, training, services, and opportunities areas. You will also be able to create your own events, and list your own services with this membership. You will not have access to any of the casting feeds, this is to control the number of relevant notifications you receive on the platform. This is an approval only membership and you will need to provide us with information on your business/events and what you will be promoting to actors as if it is not industry relevant then your membership will not be approved (or may be cancelled without refund if you do not follow the posting rules and guidelines). Please make sure that you answer the joining questions and provide us with the information that we need.
• Selling you services/products/etc to actors - (Please do not choose this membership if you are also an actor, you will need to select the Actor's Membership.) Product and services advertisers should select any Events/Training/Services/Competitions Advertising Membership as this will give you access to all of the events, training, services, and opportunities areas. You will also be able to create your own events, and list your own services with this membership. You will not have access to any of the casting feeds, this is to control the number of relevant notifications you receive on the platform. This is an approval only membership and you will need to provide us with information on your business/events and what you will be promoting to actors as if it is not industry relevant then your membership will not be approved (or may be cancelled without refund if you do not follow the posting rules and guidelines). Why do you charge a membership fee?

• We only charge a small membership fee to cover the running costs of Get Acting Hub.
• It costs us quite a bit in both time and money to run this community and so we are unable to offer it completely for free. Instead we’ve made the costs fair and extremely affordable to all.

What will happen if you make a profit from thousands of members joining?

• We want to grow as we make a profit and introduce new things to further help actors in their careers, we will use any profits made to achieve this. Should we make further profits beyond this then we would like to give back to our community through training bursaries, film funds, competitions and giveaways, etc... We hope that we can reach this stage!
